Simple Ways To Lose Weight That Won’t Drive You Crazy
Losing weight seems to be the hardest thing in the world. People say that it is all about the maths: consume less calories than you burn and you will lose weight. However, although that sounds logical and sensible, it just doesn’t seem to work that way at all.
We try and try to lose weight, but often end up getting rid only of our water weight, and putting that back on and then some within a few weeks – this is known as the yoyo effect and it will make you CRAZY!
Because of this, many of us just don’t even try anymore. We believe losing weight is too difficult. It requires hours and hours in the gym, and we simply don’t have the time for that. It also requires starving yourself and denying yourself anything tasty, basically surviving on a single stick of celery every day, and none of us wants to do that. However, the reality is that losing weight need not be that difficult at all. It doesn’t mean you have to push yourself beyond your limits and it certainly doesn’t mean you have to starve yourself or do other dangerous dietary things. Let’s take a look at some of the most simple ways to lose weight.
Tweak Don’t Overturn
One of the reasons why diets don’t work is because they are so drastic. Suddenly, you are not allowed any of your favorite foods anymore. You are no longer allowed to even look at a sweet and forget about eating anything that isn’t organic and home made. This doesn’t work at all. Instead, try to weak your lifestyle, rather than completely changing it.
“Swap the all-or-nothing approach for one or two healthy switch-ups in your daily routine. […] In fact, we talked to readers who knocked off 10, 25, even 60 pounds with some easy tweaks. Borrow their slim-down secrets to transform your body the real-world way.” – Health
Eat Lots of Fat Releasing Foods
When you start to tweak your lifestyle, you can also decide to add a number of products that are known to help your body burn fat. You can eat lots of eggs, honey, dark chocolate, ricotta cheese and shrimp, for instance. Those are all foods that most people would consider to be treats, but they are actually perfect for helping you lose weight.
Only Drink Water
Drinking nothing but water for the rest of your life would be boring and restrictive, but see how long you can keep it up as a personal challenge. And once you feel you have to drink something else as well, try to replace as many drinks as possible with water. There is, quite literally, nothing harmful in water.
“Water, on the other hand, has zero calories and carbs and little to no sodium, making it the perfect slim-down drink. And strangely, it actually helps flush out excess water weight as well as jump-starts your metabolism. If it’s just too boring, add lemon wedges or mint leaves.” – Cosmopolitan
Walk at Least 45 Minutes Each Day
Last but not least, make sure you walk.
“Burning an additional 300 calories a day with three miles of brisk walking (45 minutes should do it) could help you lose 30 pounds in a year without even changing how much you’re eating.” – RD
In order to motivate yourself, invest in a pedometer. Alternatively, if you have a smartphone or iPhone, you could download a pedometer app. This means that you can keep track of just how many steps you are taking every day. Aim for at least 10,000 steps to stay healthy, more if you also want to lose weight.
As you can see, none of these suggestions are hard to do. They can be implemented into any lifestyle and don’t involve denying yourself anything or starving yourself. The results may not be incredibly quick, but they will be there and that means they can be sustained as well.
