I remember as a kid my big sister wanted a leg workout to get toned so I had her doing all sorts of squats and going for “the pump” like it said in my muscle mags. Poor girl could barely walk and she wasn’t in the mood for taking any further advice from me.

I think we definitely need to appreciate that we usually should do things differently for men and women because we usually have different goals.

With the leg routine of 4 sets 3-5 reps, what kind of weight are we looking at?

Thanks for the advice. Always been doing 4 sets, 8-10 reps and very heavy. But my legs are shapely and now I would like to slim them down.

Your advice on how to get toned legs is seriously of no use. You dont even tell us what exercise to do, or even what to do.

Can you like be more specific on your topics giving specific advice?

Well, Yvonne, maybe you need a little more experience in the gym or this article is out of your depth because the article did say to pick an exercise for legs you like and do 3-5 reps. and aim for not feeling the pump. I think that’s pretty specific. I mean no disrespect but you may need general knowledge of workout programs before you criticize this article. Great post, BTW.

GREAT article with lots of valuable information. I agree with poster above – if you don’t understand the terminology or physical concepts of this article, you probably aren’t ready for this information. Get your basic understanding of exercise terminology and various exercises for body parts – and it will all make sense. It totally got what the author was saying and why.
